Introduction
Attackers can gain remote code execution on Trend Micro Apex One management consoles and potentially take full control of enterprise security infrastructure. The vulnerability lets an attacker upload malicious code and execute OS commands before authentication. That makes it a critical concern for any organization that relies on Apex One to manage endpoint security.
Trend Micro is a global cybersecurity vendor with products in endpoint, network, and cloud security. Its Apex One platform, used for endpoint protection and centralized security management, is widely deployed in enterprise environments. As of 2025, Trend Micro has millions of customers worldwide and is considered a major player in the endpoint security industry.
Technical Information
CVE-2025-54948 is an OS command injection vulnerability (CWE-78) in the Trend Micro Apex One on-premise management console. A pre-authenticated remote attacker can use it to upload malicious code and execute arbitrary operating system commands on the affected server. The cause is insufficient input validation in the management console's backend, which passes user-supplied input to system-level execution functions without proper sanitization. An attacker with access to the management console interface can craft payloads that inject OS commands and gain remote code execution with the privileges of the console process.
No public code snippets or detailed exploit vectors have been disclosed as of the advisory date.
